My name is Nicola Balkind and I'm a freelance film journalist based in Glasgow, Scotland. I publish at various outlets, including The Skinny, The Big Picture Magazine, and Film International. I'm also a broadcast reviewer on BBC Radio Scotland's Movie Café.
I'm a voracious consumer of media and internet nerd who loves to write. I started Uncultured Critic to chronicle my forays into watching more classics, attending events, and interviewing filmmakers.
